Patek Philippe Debuts Aquanaut Luce Chronograph with Rainbow-hued Gems

Launched in 2004, the Aquanaut Luce line is known for diamond-set bezels. This year, Patek Philippe’s Aquanaut Luce ‘Rainbow’ Chronograph, called the Ref. 7968/300R-001, featuring rainbow-hued gems.

Aquanaut Luce ‘Rainbow’ Chronograph has an 18K rose gold case featuring a double row of gem, with 40 rainbow-arrayed 2.31 ct. Sapphires on the outer row and 40 flawless rare white 2.05 ct. Top Wesselton diamonds on the inner row. The mother-of-pearl dial engraved with the typical Aquanaut design continues the theme with 12 0.31 ct. baguette sapphires set in rose gold beside the 18K gold Arabic numerals. A single 60-minute register and a sapphire display caseback completes the look. It measures 39.9 mm in diameter and 10.37 mm thick, with a 30m water resistance.

The timepiece is powered by a Caliber CH 28-520 vertical clutch automatic chronograph movement and features Côtes de Genève across the upper bridges, a 21K engraved yellow gold rotor, and a Gyromax balance with a Silinvar balance spring. The movement runs at 28,800 bph with a 45 to 55-hour power reserve.

Sporting a larger profile paired with the Aquanaut line’s angular shape, its 18k rose gold case has a gender-neutral appeal though it is technically the first self-winding women’s chronograph model in its collection. It comes with three textured rubber straps in bright red, clean white, and matte beige.
