Audemars Piguet’s Code 11.59 collection was launched in 2019. The most recent addition to the lineup, the Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Starwheel, offers a modern take on the wandering hours complication.
The new 41mm watch displays time using a complication dating back to the 17th century. The Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Starwheel runs on the Caliber 4310 that uses a 120-degree minute scale at 12 o’clock and three black opaline discs for the hour. Each disc sits on top of a blue aventurine dial with four digits, and an arrow on the white gold border mounted on a central three-hour revolution rotor. While the rotor moves, each disc rotates to show the correct hour aligned with the minute scale. It has a 70-hour power reserve.
The complication sits under a dual-curved sapphire crystal inside an 18-karat white gold Code 11.59 case, with a black ceramic mid case. All parts have polished bevels and satin-finished surfaces paired with a black rubber-coated strap.
The new Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Starwheel, Ref. 15212NB.OO.A002KB.01, will be a part of the permanent collection and carries a $57,900 price tag. Visit www.audemarspiguet.com for more details.
