Ja Morant debuts the Nike Ja 1 in a purple colorway during the matchup against the Golden State Warriors on Christmas Day. And with that, Nike has officially announced that Memphis Grizzlies superstar guard Ja Morant is now part of its signature roster.
After over two years designing and creating the signature footwear, Nike collaborated with the Memphis Grizzlies player to develop a shoe with a striking profile and engineered to reduce landing force while maximizing hang time for the ideal movement control.
The Nike Ja 1 sneaker colorway revealed is a light blue, pink, and yellow colorway with mesh side panels. A wrap-around rainbow ombre Swoosh is seen alongside a stylized “JA” over a chevron, a subtle nod to the “Beneath No One” motto Morant adopted as an under-recruited college player. Other details include a stamp of the name of Morant’s daughter, Kaari.
Nike Ja 1 is set to release in April, with more details to be available in early 2023.
