Bentley just revealed a bespoke 1953 R-Type-inspired Continental GT carrying the Azure name. The R-Type Continental was the inspiration for the first-generation Continental GT launched in 2003, and the Azure name was last seen in 2009 with the Azure T.
The one-off tribute pays homage to a heritage collection 1953 R-Type Continental with an ivory exterior and red cabin delivered to Dr. Rowland Guenin of Switzerland in December 1953. In 2001, Bentley acquired and restored the coupe.
To honor that R-Type, the new Continental GT Azure sports an Old English White exterior, bright chrome trim accents on the grille and along the side, Cricket Ball brown leather interior, Burr Walnut wood dashboard trim, R-Type Continental silhouettes on the treadplates, and 22-inch black wheels.
The Azure pack defines the 2023 Continental GT Azure through comfort and luxury additions like a heads-up display, front massaging seats with six programmable settings, the Bentley Dynamic Ride system with active anti-roll bars, and the Touring Specification, which features adaptive cruise control, lane assist, and traffic assist.
This custom 2023 Continental GT Azure runs on a standard twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, making 542HP. It will be part of Bentley’s UK press fleet.
