Candela C-8 Polestar Edition Takes the Water on Gold Feet

Two Swedish mobility brands, Polestar and Candela just revealed their next collaborative project, the Candela C-8 Polestar edition. The new Candela C-8 Polestar edition highlights the two brands’ shift to a more sustainable electric future.

The new Candela C-8 Polestar edition, manufactured at Candela’s factory in Stockholm, features a new solid gray exterior, a lighter gray interior theme, specially designed marine-certified textiles for the seat upholstery, cushions, and sunbeds, as well as wall and roof panels and the iconic Polestar Swedish gold painted hydrofoil detailing.

Starting this year, the Candela C-8 Polestar edition and all Candela C-8 boats will be powered by the 69-kWh battery and charging hardware from the standard-range Polestar 2. It has a range of up to 57 nautical miles on one charge at a cruising speed of 22 knots and a high-speed range 2-3 times longer than conventional electric speedboats.

The Candela C-8 Polestar edition runs on the Candela C-POD, a 75 kW electric direct drive pod motor. Candela’s computer-stabilized foil technology allows the computer-guided gold hydrofoils to lift the hull above the water at high speeds, reducing energy consumption, and providing a silent and smooth ride, without damaging wakes.

The Candela C-8 Polestar edition is available online in the Polestar Additionals webshop or at Candela.com. Pricing starts from $450,000, and deliveries are expected starting June 2024.
