The third limited-edition Rowing Blazers x Seiko 5 Sports Watch capsule collection just got unveiled in time for summer. Designed by Jack Carlson and vintage watch expert Eric Wind in partnership with Seiko, the 4-piece collection has new vintage-inspired dials and straps that are equal parts quirky and nostalgic.
Each watch in the collection features 40mm stainless steel cases, colorful, vintage-inspired dials, Seiko 6106-7107 Sport Diver-inspired chapter ring and retro-styled hour markers, Hardlex crystals for both front and back, steel bracelets, monogrammed crowns, “candy cane” second hands, and casebacks adorned with Rowing Blazer’s Derry Bones “Tempus Fugit” motif. Water resistance for the Rowing Blazers x Seiko 5 Sports watches sit at the same 100 meters, the same as the standard-production Seiko 5 Sports watches that feature this same case design.
Like in the previous collaborative collection, this Rowing Blazers x Seiko 5 capsule collection features 4 variant dials in pink, purple, yellow, and white, with the white dial variant featuring varicolored “croquet stripe” hour markers. Each variant also comes with an additional nylon NATO strap. The pink dial model comes with a blue and white striped strap, the purple version gets one in green and yellow, the yellow dial variant comes in a red, yellow, and green striped strap; and the white dial variant comes in a pink strap.
Powering the new Rowing Blazers x Seiko 5 Sports watches is a Caliber 4R36 automatic movement. It comes equipped with an English/Japanese day disc, and runs at a frequency of 21,600vph (3 Hz) with a power reserve of approximately 41 hours.
The Blazers x Seiko 5 Sports watches capsule collection sells for a retail price of $495 apiece. Each variant is limited to only 888 numbered pieces, and are available from the official Seiko and Rowing Blazer’s websites.
