The Money Heist series on Netflix was a sleeper hit when it came out in 2017. Fast forward to 2023, and Netflix just released the trailer for the anticipated prequel to the series during the fan event in São Paulo, Brazil, on Saturday.
The trailer shows snippets of Jewel thief Andrés de Fonollos aka ‘Berlin’ planning an elaborate heist on one of the top Paris auction houses interspersed with shots from the series. The series follows Fonollos as he leads a group of specialists on an action-filled romp across Europe.
The cast is led by Pedro Alonzo in the titular role. He is joined by Tristán Ulloa, Michelle Jenner, Begoña Vargas, Julio Peña, and Joel Sánchez. Money Heist creator Álex Pina and collaborator Esther Martínez Lobato produced the prequel.
Berlin is expected to premiere on Netflix this December.
