Carving its niche as the progenitor of the SUV coupe category, the X6 beckons drivers seeking a blend of athleticism and refinement. Since its inception, the BMW X6 has challenged conventions, igniting debates and captivating enthusiasts with its distinctive silhouette. It’s a true love it or hate it scenario. Me? I love it. And the latest generation’s one of the few cars out there that don’t need higher trim or an M badge to look. It just does its thing, even at standstill.
Now in its third generation, the 2024 iteration definitely brings with it a much-welcomed revitalization, boasting refined aesthetics, enhanced technology, and potent powertrains. Embracing the ethos of form meeting function, the X6 exudes a charisma that transcends traditional SUV norms, inviting admiration and curiosity in equal measure.
Exterior Design
The 2024 BMW X6 xDrive40i leads with that sleek silhouette with a sloping roofline and revised styling elements. LED lighting enhances visibility and aesthetics, while sculpted body lines optimize performance. While some folks feel the coupe-like roofline may compromise rear visibility and passenger headroom, and even reduce cargo space, we say there’s an X5 you should check out. For us, we’re willing to give up a bit of the more practical touches for a look that commands such a tremendous amount of presence.

On the plus side, it is a luxury car without a doubt due to its impeccably crafted cabin with a curved digital display, panoramic sunroof, and intuitive infotainment system. It also has 12-volt power supplies in the first and second rows as well as the rear, electric front sports seats, an M Sport leather steering wheel, and keyless entry and start with BMW’s NFC key card. However, the coupe-inspired roofline may compromise rear passenger space, and glossy surfaces can cause glare. There’s also limited customization options compared to competitors in its class.
