Few automobiles can match the enduring appeal of the Porsche 911. Porsche has masterfully reinvented this iconic model for over five decades, ensuring it remains at the forefront of automotive technology and performance. The 2025 iteration, designated as the 992.2, is no exception. It introduces a significant leap forward with the T-Hybrid system in the 911 Carrera GTS, marking a new chapter in the 911’s storied history.
Porsche updated the exterior of the 2025 911 to enhance both aesthetics and aerodynamics. The front fascia now features five vertical louvers, part of the active air intake system designed to optimize cooling and performance. The new LED Matrix design headlights, with their characteristic four-point design, provide improved illumination and integrate seamlessly into the revised front end. At the rear, the 911 showcases a newly designed light band with “PORSCHE” lettering, the rear decklid grille, with its five-strake design, and the revised rear fascia. Additionally, the GTS models come standard with 21-inch wheels at the rear.
The 2025 Porsche 911 seamlessly blends classic design elements with cutting-edge technology. A standout feature is the fully digital instrument cluster, a first for the 911, offering customizable displays with a classic five-gauge layout. The center console is equipped with a cooled storage compartment and an inductive phone charging area, showcasing the model’s commitment to modern convenience.
The Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system, with its 10.9-inch touchscreen, now supports deeper integration with Apple CarPlay, while video streaming and native apps like Spotify and Apple Music are available directly through the PCM.
The 2025 911 Carrera GTS is the star of the lineup, boasting the innovative T-Hybrid powertrain. This system combines a newly developed 3.6-liter flat-six engine with an electric motor and an electric turbocharger, delivering an impressive total output of 532 horsepower and 449 lb-ft of torque. With this setup, the GTS can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds, setting a new standard for the 911 Carrera models.
The base 911 Carrera continues with an updated 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine, now producing 388 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque. This engine, paired with a refined PDK transmission, allows the Carrera to achieve a 0-60 mph time of 3.9 seconds, slightly quicker than its predecessor.
