The new versions feature bamboo-based leather alternatives, making it the most sustainable iteration released by cutting the piece’s materials’ carbon footprint by up to 35%. This sustainable initiative by Herman Miller is just one example of their commitment to environmental stewardship.
The new bamboo-based material is soft and durable, resembling leather in texture. It’s also scratch-resistant and retains its color. It’s available in classic ivory, russet, and black and can be paired with any of the chair and ottoman’s original shell options, such as oak, ash, walnut, and santos palisander.
The lounge chair and Ottoman with bamboo-based upholstery are now available through the Herman Miller webstore, Herman Miller/MillerKnoll retail locations, and authorized dealers. Both pieces are available in standard and tall sizes for prices ranging between $6,395-$9,495, depending on size and shell options.
