Porsche Celebrates 50 Years Of The 911 Turbo With New Anniversary Edition

It’s been 50 years since the iconic 911 Turbo was released, and to celebrate its half-century anniversary, Porsche has released the special edition ‘911 Turbo 50 years.’ The new model is a showstopper inspired by historic 911 Turbo models and based on the 2025 911 Turbo S . Porsche will produce only 1,974 units of this 50th-anniversary edition, a number that pays homage to the year the first 911 Turbo was released.

The Porsche 911 Turbo (Type 930) combines exceptional performance with luxurious styling elements. It boasts a distinctive Turbonite finish, exclusive to the Turbo models, and features 911 Turbo S Exclusive Design wheels, also painted in Turbonite. Paying homage to historic Turbo models, the car includes Anthracite Grey accents on the exterior mirror base, rear wing, lower rear fascia, and air intake grilles. The rear decklid grille is a special touch, adorned with a badge commemorating ‘1974-2024’ and a turbocharger icon, celebrating 50 years of Turbo heritage.

Inside, design elements of historic Turbo models are also included. The  911 Turbo 50 Years cabin features ‘MacKenzie’ tartan upholstery on the seat centers and inner door panels, seen in early Porsche 911 Turbo models. Turbonite seat belts and other contrasting elements further differentiate from the standard 911 Turbo S Model. Celebrating its anniversary, the model proudly displays a ‘turbo 50’ designation on the door sill guards, the back of the left rear seat, and above the glove compartment. A specific ‘turbo 50’ designation is also on the dashboard’s Porsche Design sub-second clock.

Additional design elements are available in the optional Heritage Design Package. These include an Aventurine Green Metallic base color; a high-quality decal set in white silk matte; silver and white painted hood and wheel center caps; the ‘turbo 50’ and  ‘Porsche’ model designations at the rear painted in gold; extended leather surfaces and tartan design elements in the interior; and more. In addition to the optional design package, an exclusive Chronograph 911 Turbo 50 Years by Porsche Design is made available to owners of this special edition model, allowing individuals to get their hands on another piece of premium craftsmanship.

The 911 Turbo 50 Years is powered by a 3.7 liter boxer engine with VTG-twin-turbocharging. The engine produces 640 hp and 590 lb.-ft. of torque and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds. The car also includes other components present in all Turbo S models, such as an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK), Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), and Porsche Traction Management (PTM) active all-wheel drive. Apart from the standard 911 Turbo S equipment, the 911 Turbo 50 Years is fitted with a Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) sport suspension with a 10 mm lower ride height, a sport exhaust system with black tailpipes, a front-axle lift system, black brake calipers, and a tinted LED Matrix design headlights with Dynamic Light System Plus.

The 911 Turbo 50 Years was unveiled during Monterey Car Week 2024. It is available to order now and is expected to arrive at U.S. Porsche Centers late in 2024. Each car costs $261,100, excluding the $1,995 delivery and handling fees. For more information, visit the Porsche website.
