The Aston Martin Valkyrie, codenamed ‘Nebula,’ is a revolutionary hypercar with exceptional performance and aerospace-grade engineering. Its Nebula name is an acronym for Adrian Newey, Red Bull Racing, and Aston Martin, who collaborated for seven years to release this fully carbon fiber, road-legal vehicle.
Officially named Valkyrie, derived from Norse mythology, the hypercar is a work of art. Its elegant bodywork features a trademark Aston Martin grille and an open underfloor design that employs Venturi tunnels to feed an enormous diffuser. This innovative design allows the Valkyrie to achieve over 3.5-G through high-speed corners and generate two tonnes of downforce, making it a Grand Prix car for the streets.
The Valkyrie boasts a 65-degree, naturally aspirated, 6.5-litre V-12 engine with a rev limit of around 11,100 rpm. This engine produces 1,160 horsepower thanks to its electric motor and battery pack supplied by Rimac. Power is sent to the rear wheels by a Ricardo-manufactured seven-speed sequential transmission. The car also has double wishbone suspension and a hydraulics system borrowed from a Boeing Apache helicopter.
Aston Martin vehicles are known to flaunt their famous ‘Wings’ badge that protrudes from the bonnet. For the Valkyrie, the badge was specially made from titanium, just 40 microns thick, to reduce its weight by 99.4 percent compared to the normal symbol for better airflow distribution. It also features the smallest and brightest brake light in a production car and a single windscreen wiper, contributing to its sleeker design. This displays the attention given to the smallest of details for this staggering vehicle.
This 2022 model year example, with only 109 kilometers on the odometer, is a rare opportunity to own a virtually new Valyrie. It’s finished in Lunar white with a gloss carbon roof panel and red graphic stakes. It also includes Satin Black Magnesium wheels that house red calipers for the massive carbon-ceramic brakes. The cockpit features racing-style seats in Pure Black Deboss Alcantara, complemented by Twill Satin Carbon Fibre for the roof inserts, a six-point race harness, and anodized switchgear in red. The model includes additional options such as a polished carbon engine plenum, an Inconel exhaust system with black finishers, and a gloss carbon engine cover.
This Valkyrie is a left-hand drive, European-specification car that was ordered new to Japan and sold on 10 March 2023. Given the limited Valyrie models produced, interested buyers now have the chance to own an almost new model. It is up for auction for $2.6 to $3 million at The Pavilion, Emirates Golf Club, in Dubai.
