Porsche 2025 992.2 911 GT3 Unveiled With Shorter Gear Ratios, Weissach Package, And $52,800 Price Bump

Since its debut in 1999, the 911 GT3 has delivered the perfect blend of racing performance and everyday usability. To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Porsche has shown off the 992.2 iterations, including its track-focused winged variant and the GT3 Touring.

The new 992.2 911 GT3 models boasts a refined design with sharpened front and rear styling and optimized aerodynamics. Both variants include a redesigned front diffuser, a new spoiler lip, and updated underbody air guides. The rear also features redesigned elements found on the diffuser, air inlets, side plates on the wing, and decklid. The 911 GT3 also includes a redesigned Matrix Design LED headlight with an optional white accent ring, which improves lighting functionality while enlarging the air inlet area for a more structured appearance.

The sports car is engineered for agility, with significant attention to reducing weight. It is equipped with silver-colored lightweight aluminum wheels that shed around 3.3 lbs of unsprung mass compared to its predecessor. Optional magnesium wheels are available with the Weissach Package or the Lightweight Package, which reduces weight even further by 20 lbs. The new 40 Ah lithium-ion lightweight reduces weight by 9.9 lbs.

The 911 GT3 has a 4.0-liter, naturally aspirated engine that generates 502 hp and 331 lb.-ft. of torque. Both models have a seven-speed PDK or a six-speed GT Sport manual transmission, featuring an eight percent shorter gear ratio. With PDK, the vehicle can accelerate to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds, while the manual gearbox takes 3.7 seconds.

A hallmark of the new 911 GT3 is its front axle, where the front ball joint of the lower trailing arm sits lower on the front axle. This innovation produces an anti-dive effect that decreases pitching under braking and maintains consistent aerodynamic balance under heavy braking.

The vehicle comes standard with front 255/35 ZR 20 and rear 315/30 ZR 21 sport tires.

New CFRP bucket seats with folding seatbacks are an option. Alternatively, customers can choose the 18-way Adaptive Sports Seats Plus. The two-seat standard cockpit features a digital instrument panel with a structured display and control concept. The  ‘Track Screen’ display mode minimizes distractions to the left and right of the tachometer. Enhanced standard equipment such as LED Matrix design headlights and a smartphone compartment with up to 15 W wireless charging are also included.

The Touring Package offers more customization features for the new 911 GT3. It features an active rear spoiler with a Gurney flap and modified underbody air guides to provide aerodynamic balance. The interior of the 911 GT3 with Touring Package offers a wide range of high-quality colored leather upholstery similar to the previous model. However, customers now have an optional rear seat configuration, fulfilling a longstanding customer request.

For the first time on the 911 GT3, the Weissach Package is available. This package includes CFRP components on the anti-roll bar, shear panel of the rear axle, coupling rods, roof, side plates of the rear wing, mirror triangle, exterior mirror top shells, air blades in the front area, door handle, and storage nets. Additionally, the interior is equipped with leather and Race-Tex upholstery, and the upper side of the dashboard is covered in anti-glare Race-Tex.

The 911 GT3 with the Touring Package offers the ‘Leichtbau’ (Lightweight) Package. This includes CFRP components for the anti-roll bar, coupling rods, and shear panels on the rear axle. Additionally, the roof is painted in the exterior color, lightweight door panels are included, and forged magnesium wheels are offered.

The new Porsche 911 GT3 and Porsche 911 GT3 with Touring Package will be available for order by the end of the year, with deliveries expected in the summer of 2025. Pricing starts at $222,500, excluding $1,995 for delivery and handling. For context, that’s a $52,800 bump from the 992.1 GT3’s. For more information, visit the brand’s website.
