Hyundai N division has introduced a ‘Rolling Lab’ concept, the RN24. This concept, which debuted at N Day 2024, highlights the brand’s vision for the next generation of high-performance electric vehicles (EVs). It’s a vehicle designed to bring motorsport-grade technology to everyday driving by embodying Hyundai N’s philosophy comprising three core principles: ‘Corner Rascal,’ ‘Racetrack Capability,’ and ‘Everyday Sportscar.’
The RN24 builds upon Hyundai’s IONIQ 5 N platform, integrating its dual-motor system with a compact chassis inspired by World Rally Championship designs. In contrast to traditional EV concepts, the RN24 focuses on a lightweight and compact build. It features a 640 hp electronics system taken from the IONIQ 5 N. The system is fitted into a shortened wheelbase similar to the B-segment Hyundai i20 N Rally1 Hybrid.
Drivers can adjust performance features directly from the steering wheel thanks to the vehicle’s advanced drive control systems and rally-inspired suspension. The compact chassis is reinforced by an exposed roll cage and 3D-printed structural reinforcements, ensuring durability while enhancing stability. The car is also equipped with a unique sound system that complements its performance with its side speakers and a rear fender that acts as a soundbox.
Hyundai has not revealed detailed plans for the RN24 yet, but more information is expected soon. Visit Hyundai’s website for more details.
