Kith x BMW Reimagine The 1981 M1 E26

Ronnie Fieg and Kith have revealed their latest collaboration with BMW: a custom 1981 BMW M1 E26. Fieg’s reimagined model is built on the iconic first model from BMW’s M Division. It blends BMW’s automotive history with Kith’s modern aesthetic.

The 1981 M1 E26 underwent an extensive year-long restoration using original parts sourced from BMW archives. Its exterior features BMW’s rare Techno Violet finish, complemented by a bespoke Kith M-Series badge on the rear decklid.

The luxurious interior features BMW’s Individual Black Merino Leather with Kith’s signature monogram pattern. This detailing extends across the seats, headrests, gear shift, door panels, and floor mats.

Mechanically, the M1 retains its renowned performance produced by a 3.5L inline-six engine that generates 277 hp and achieves a top speed of 165 mph, preserving its legacy of what was once Germany’s fastest sports car.

This one-of-a-kind restoration will debut on December 6th, during the Kith for BMW Showcase at the 1111 Lincoln Road parking garage in Miami, Florida. The event will also spotlight Fieg’s collection of custom BMWs, which a capsule collection will likely accompany. For more details, visit Kith’s website.
