Porsche Unveils 2025 911 Carrera S With 474 Horses In Both Coupe And Cabriolet Forms

Porsche is introducing the 2025 911 Carrera S to the 911 model lineup, which is offered in both Coupé and Cabriolet versions. This model sits between the 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera GTS with its 3.0-liter twin-turbo boxer engine and enhanced equipment.

The 911 Carrera S outperforms the previous 911 Carrera with its upgraded performance features, enhanced powertrain, improved driving dynamics, and range of customization options. It provides a 30 hp increase over its predecessor, delivering 474 hp and 390 lb.-ft. of torque. This was achieved by introducing various equipment, including new turbochargers and enhanced charge-air cooling.

When equipped with the Sport Chrono Package, the Carrera S Coupe can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds, 0.2 seconds quicker than the previous model. It can reach a top speed of 191 mph, with power channeled through an eight-speed Porsche dual-clutch transmission (PDK) to the rear wheels.

Apart from the horsepower increase, other standard equipment upgrades include a Sport Exhaust with Silver tailpipes, 408 mm front brakes, 380 mm rear brakes taken from the previous generation 911 Carrera GTS models, and updated dampers with optimized hydraulics.

Additional performance features such as the Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV+) and staggered 20/21-inch remain the same as the previous version. Other optional upgrades include Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), PASM Sport Suspension, and rear axle steering.

The inside of the 2025 model is also significantly upgraded with leather upholstery on the seats, headrests, upper dashboard, and upper door panels. A full leather interior option extends leather to additional surfaces such as the lower dashboard, glove box lid, rear side panels, and the rear tunnel. An Exclusive Manufaktur Leather Interior can be chosen, offering individuals up to 48 possible two-tone combinations.

The new model also includes upgraded standard equipment options available in the model series, including Matrix Design LED headlights, a drive mode knob on the heated steering wheel, and a cooled wireless smartphone charger. HD-Matrix Design LED headlights, a front axle lift system, and the Sport Chrono package are available.

The 2025 model is available to order as a Coupe or Cabriolet with rear-wheel drive. Pricing starts at $146,400 for the Coupe and $159,600 for the Cabriolet. Deliveries to U.S. Porsche Centers are expected to begin in Spring 2025. For more details, visit the brand’s website.
