Bentley has revealed ‘The Black Rose,’ a stunning bespoke creation that showcases the co-creation commissioning journey behind every Batur. It is one of only 18 Baturs being crafted by Mulliner’s Bespoke Studio and is themed around the beauty of rose gold.
The car is finished in a custom ‘Black Rose’ metallic paint, complemented by a gloss Beluga upper body. Satin Rose Gold accents are present on the ‘endless bonnet line’ brightware, front grille, mirror caps, lower body kit, and 22” tri-tone wheels surrounding carbon ceramic brakes with black calipers.
Inside, dark Beluga leather, charcoal grey tweed, and Black rose-painted veneers are punctuated by 210 grams of hallmarked 18-karat rose gold. This innovative detailing is created using Bentley’s gold Additive Manufacturing (AM) 3D printing technique, which adorns key driver touchpoints with rose gold, including the Drive Mode Selector, Organ Stop vent controls, and the insert marker on the steering wheels.
The rose gold elements were crafted in partnership with Cooksongold using 100% recycled, sustainably sourced jewelry. Each piece is hallmarked in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, with parts produced in 2022 also bearing the Jubilee hallmark in honor of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee year.
Bentley invested £3 million in 2022 to expand AM capacity at the Crewe factory, enabling such innovations. Beyond hallmarked 18-karat rose gold, Mulliner offers clients materials like aerospace-inspired titanium, leather-like textiles, different types of wood, and a wide range of other options, showcasing limitless personalization.
Mulliner has a legacy of creating coachbuilt masterpieces since the 1920s. Limited to just 18 units, the Batur marks a turning point in Bentley’s design evolution. The Black Rose continues this legacy by redefining luxury through innovative bespoke craftsmanship. For more information, visit the brand’s website.
