Louis Vuitton And Kari Voutilainen Unveil Exclusive Travel-Inspired Timepiece

Louis Vuitton partnered with expert horologist Kari Voutilainen to create a stunning travel-inspired timepiece, the LVKV-02 GMR 6.

The ‘GMR 6’ name reflects its travel legacy, where ‘R’ represents the power reserve display, while ‘6’ indicates the position of the secondary time zone sundial. The GMT disc is designed to be set to the wearer’s home time, and the central hour hand can be adjusted instantly via the crown while traveling.

The timepiece is based on the Escale model, which embodies Louis Vuitton’s deep connection to travel and trunkmaking. The watch’s lugs echo the brand’s signature trunks, featuring angular details and rivets resembling the brass brackets on the leather carriers.

The 40.5 mm time-teller features a gold dial constructed in four parts. The hour circle is adorned with a diamond-polished painting hand-decorated by Maryna Bossy, while the dial’s center features Voutilainen’s special hand guilloché engraving technique, where patterns are made of curved and straight lines. The sub-dial at the bottom showcases a hand-engraved day-night disc with sun and moon motifs inspired by the brand’s monogram flower in saffron and blue hues.

Only five examples of this exclusive timepiece will be produced, each delivered in a bespoke travel trunk crafted in the House’s workshop in Asniéres. For more details, visit the brand’s website.
