Mercedes-Benz brings the new 2026 Mercedes-AMG E 53 HYBRID Wagon to America later this year. The new model combines AMG performance with hybrid efficiency and the practicality of a wagon.
The E 53 HYBRID Wagon is powered by an AMG-enhanced 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder turbocharged engine and a permanently excited synchronous electric motor. This powertrain delivers a combined output of 577 hp or 604 hp with the optional RACE START feature. Power is channeled through the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ fully variable all-wheel drive, which accelerates it from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds.
The P2 hybrid system integrates a 161-hp electric motor into the AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission and features a 400-volt, 28.6kWh battery. Around 21.2kWh is usable for daily driving, with additional capacity reserved for electric boost during dynamic acceleration.
The dynamic driving experience is enhanced with standard active rear-axle steering and AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension with adaptive adjustable damping. However, this experience can further be elevated with the optional AMG DYNAMIC PLUS Package. This adds RACE START, a raised top speed of 174 mph, an electronically controlled AMG limited-slip rear differential, active engine mounts, an AMG High Performance Composite Brake System, and an AMG Performance Steering Wheel.
Customers can choose between 12 paint colors for the exterior. Regarding wheels, the standard setup includes 20-inch AMG 5-Twin Spoke wheels, with the option to upgrade to 20-inch AMG 10-Twin Spoke and 21-inch AMG Forged Cross-Spoke wheels in various finishes.
Interior options include AMG MB-Tex/Microfiber or Nappa leather upholsteries, multiple trim selections, AMG Performance seats, and the Performance steering wheel in several finishes. A 17-speaker, 750-watt Burmester 4D Surround Sound System comes standard, with the optional MBUX Superscreen Package that adds a 12.3-inch display for the front passenger.
An exclusive limited ‘Edition 1’ model is also available for the 2026 AMG E 53 HYBRID Wagon. This special edition features MANUFAKTUR Alpine Grey paint, unique AMG graphics and exterior accents, 21-inch AMG Forged Cross-Spoke wheels, a curated interior, and expanded standard equipment.
