Genesis has been known to bring out some pretty impressive concepts and this year brings forth its first adventure vehicle concept, the X Gran Equator Concept. Confident, elegant and limitless, the X Gran Equator reimagines the brand’s ‘Athletic Elegance’ design language through the rugged lens of overlanding.
The X Gran Equator Concept balances the serenity of nature and the excitement of the unknown. The name comes from Equator, an Arabian stallion celebrated for its endurance, agility, and power. All these qualities are echoed in the vehicle’s elegant yet capable design.

The exterior emphasizes simplicity and sophistication with a long hood, sleek cabin, and fast C-pillar, while its dark wheel-arch cladding and 24-inch beadlock wheels reinforce its off-road intent. Geometric auxiliary lamps and a split-opening tailgate merge functionality with Genesis’ signature Two-Line headlamps.

Inside, the cabin blends analog inspiration with digital tech. A standout four-circle display cluster, inspired by vintage camera dials, is present in the cabin’s center. Contrasting colors and geometric forms offer a modern aesthetic, while swiveling front seats and modular storage features enhance practicality.
Although the X Gran Equator Concept is not yet confirmed for production, it marks Genesis’ continued evolution into lifestyle-oriented vehicles. In the words of Luc Donckerwolke, Chief Creative Officer of Genesis. ‘It represents the orchestration of true off-road competence and uncompromising luxury.’
The X Gran Equator Concept can be seen on display at the Genesis booth at the 2025 New York International Auto Show, currently open to the public at Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. After the show, it will be on display at Genesis House in the Meatpacking District until the end of July. For more details, visit the brand’s website.
