GMC has unveiled the 2026 Hummer EV, pushing the limits of electric off-road capability, speed, performance, and design. The launch also introduces King Crab, an all-new advanced rear-steer mode experience, which significantly improves the Hummer EV’s standard four-wheel steer agility.
King Crab mode turns the rear wheels faster than the front for exceptional control in tight or rugged environments. It is available as standard on the 2026 2X and 3X Pickup and SUV trims and will also launch later this year to all 2022-2025 Hummer EV Pickup and SUV owners through an over-the-air software update.
Performance continues to be a hallmark of the Hummer EV. The 3X Pickup with the available 24-module battery delivers an incredible 1,160 horsepower and 13,000 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful truck in its class. Ride quality is also improved by further optimizing the damper tuning.
The 2026 Hummer EV offers bidirectional charging capability, enabling vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-home power transfer. These features allow the Hummer EV to assist other compatible EVs or power a home during power outages.
Additional software upgrades include new Super Cruise enhancements, now integrated with Google Maps to suggest the ideal driving lane on Super Cruise-capable roads automatically. A newly introduced hands-on function keeps you centered in your lane and offers adaptive speed control. Adaptive Cruise control has also been upgraded to match posted speed limits automatically.
The Hummer EV features a 13.4-inch diagonal premium GMC infotainment center with a customizable split-view screen. Google Built-In expands entertainment options while OnStar connectively enables voice assistance, EV routing, and access to popular apps. The 2026 model also debuts Granite Drift and Stealth Eclipse interior themes. Additionally, two new exterior paint options are introduced – Coastal Dune and Auburn Matte.
The 2026 model reveals the Hummer EV Carbon Fiber Edition Pickup and SUV, available for the 3X Pickup and SUV models. Powered by a 24-module battery, the Pickup version accelerates from 0-60 mph in just 2.8 seconds, making it the fastest Hummer EV to date.
Alongside the performance updates, all Carbon Fiber Edition Pickups and SUVs feature an exclusive Magnus Gray Matte exterior and Velocity Ember interior theme. In addition, these models include 22-inch carbon fiber black wheels, all-terrain tires, carbon fiber inserts in the mirror caps and skid plate, a black approach shield, and black emblems. Both the Pickup and SUV Carbon Fiber Editions are highly exclusive, with only a limited number scheduled for production.
Production of the 2026 Hummer EV begins later this year with vehicles arriving at GMC EV dealerships shortly thereafter. Pricing and GM-estimated range will be shared closer to launch. For more details, visit the brand’s website.
