Panerai, the renowned luxury watchmaker, unveils its latest offerings at Watches & Wonders Geneva 2024, showcasing a fusion of innovation and inspiration drawn from the world of sailing. The Panerai Submersible QuarantaQuattro Luna Rossa Ti-Ceramitech PAM01466 and PAM01543 stand as testaments to the brand’s commitment to excellence and cutting-edge technology.
Panerai’s journey with the America’s Cup commenced in 2017, marking its official partnership with the prestigious sailing event. Subsequent collaborations with teams like Oracle Team USA and Softbank Team Japan solidified Panerai’s position in the sailing realm. Notably, the brand ascended to the title sponsor of the Luna Rossa sailing team, aligning with its Italian heritage and a shared spirit of adventure.
Drawing inspiration from its rich history, Panerai’s dive watches pay homage to its legacy of supplying timepieces to the Royal Italian Navy. However, the Submersible collection emerges as a modern interpretation, incorporating state-of-the-art features while retaining the essence of traditional diving instruments.
The Panerai Submersible QuarantaQuattro Luna Rossa Ti-Ceramitech PAM01466 and PAM01543 are housed in 44mm Ti-Ceramitech cases. These timepieces draw inspiration from the ceramic-coated materials used in high-performance racing yachts, a testament to their durability and performance. The Electrolytic Plasma Oxidation process gives the titanium cases a striking dark blue hue. The Ti-Ceramitech material, 44% lighter than steel, boasts a fracture resistance ten times greater than traditional ceramic, making these watches a perfect blend of style and functionality.
The watch features a date display at 3 o’clock, small seconds at 9 o’clock, and water resistance up to 500 meters. To complement its functionality, the dials are available in sunburst blue (PAM01466) or grainy white (PAM01543), offering versatility and style.
Both models house the Caliber P.900, a self-winding movement that operates at 28,800vph. With a thickness of 4.2mm, the movement comprises 171 components, including 23 jewels and a single barrel, ensuring a power reserve of three days. The incorporation of the Incabloc® anti-shock device makes these timepieces ideal companions for exploration and adventure.
The Panerai Submersible QuarantaQuattro Luna Rossa Ti-Ceramitech PAM01466 and PAM01543 will retail for $16,600. For more information, please visit the official Panerai website.
