Instagram Direct

Instagram held a press event this morning to unveil their latest iteration – Instagram Direct. It’s a new way to send photo and video messages to your friends. A new icon in the top right corner of your home feed will let you access the feature as all you have to do is tap it to see photos and videos that people have sent directly to you. If you’re looking to send, just choose Direct instead of Followers once you’ve edited your post. When you’re done editing, just choose the people you want to share with.

Instagram Direct is available through the App Store for iOS and Google Play Store for Android users via an update to the Instagram app. Short clip promoting the new feature is below.

Check out this video to re-live that horrible moment, but now with a solution. Enter LifeProof with the first waterproof and shockproof smartphone case without a screen cover, called LifeProof Nüüd. These covers for the Apple iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy SIII feature patent-pending Screenless Technology that uses a compression lock system to form a waterproof seal between the case and the device touchscreen – delivering complete water, mud, dirt and snow-proof protection while maintaining perfect clarity and touch.

On top of that, the cases are super thin, light and offer anti-reflective optical glass camera lenses. Visit Lifeproof for more details on the LifeProof Nüüd covers, which available also for the iPad.

SlingPlayer Mobile on its way to iPhone to take on OrbLive

SlingPlayer Mobile is already out for Windows Mobile, Palm, Symbian, UIQ, and BlackBerry (beta) platforms and now it’s on its way to the iPhone. With the app, you can access one or more Slingboxes from your mobile device, and watch your TV stations on-the-go.

You’ll also have the ability to manage your DVR from the iPhone, but something special in the iPhone version is the ability to synchronously add and remove favorite channels directly from the iPhone’s interface.
