MBFW | Public School Fall/Winter 2013 Presentation

MBFW | Public School Fall/Winter 2013 Presentation

Last night, Public School presented their Fall/Winter 2013 collection at Milk MADE Studios and we on hand to check it out. Designers Maxwell Osborne and Dao-Yi Chow have always looked at Public School to find perfection in imperfection and so the theme for F/W 2013 is natural. It centers around destruction and reconstruction to portray the essence of breaking objects down to their core and building them back up. Fabric development is key here with wool blended knits and stretch skins, making way for a solid collection featuring some top-notch pieces. The lineup includes tailored jackets with leather sleeves, ombre and fabric blocking in everything from shirts to sweaters as well as a few motorcycle jackets we can’t wait to see in-stores come this fall.

All the looks were paired with Generic Man x Public School creepers.

NYFW | Shades of Grey by Micah Cohen Fall/Winter 2013

NYFW | Shades of Grey by Micah Cohen Fall/Winter 2013

Shades of Grey by Micah Cohen presented their F/W 2013 collection earlier today and not only did we get a chance to check out the label’s men’s collection, but today also marked the debut of its women’s collection. Micah looked to infuse the philosophy behind the Shades of Grey by Micah Cohen men’s line and translate it into a women’s collection. As for the men’s offerings, expect Cohen’s signature slim suiting, athletic-inspired knits and outerwear including baseball jackets and boiled wool overcoats. Taking a cue from his S/S ’13 collection, Cohen included more color than in previous fall collections, in rich autumnal colorblocking seen throughout.

Here, you’ll find all the men’s looks from the Shades of Grey by Micah Cohen F/W 2013 Presentation as well as a few of our favorite women’s looks.

First Look | Vietto Fall/Winter 2013 Lookbook

First Look | Vietto Fall/Winter 2013 Lookbook

Introducing Vietto, a New York-based outerwear label that looks to deliver top-notch, military-inspired product. The focus is on a refined take on classic military outerwear with infusion of hefty wool coating, laser cut horn buttons, and Vilene interfacing. Look for a hearty silhouette, staunch fabrications, and subdued color palette. What really caught our eyes about Vietto is that their pieces can appeal to both the young and old and doesn’t restrict itself to one consumer type or region. These pieces are versatile and can be applied over suiting and brogues or a denim jacket and boots.

We’re expecting Vietto to be available through fine retailers this coming fall.

A.P.C. Fall/Winter 2013 Collection

French brand A.P.C. gives us a look at their Fall 2013 collection which features a muted color palette that’s filled primarily with deep reds and blues, black and gray. There’s a collegiate influence here with the delivery of casual sweatshirts and a varsity jacket though the formal pieces aren’t forgotten. Look for well-fitting trousers and a navy double-breasted suit I was wish was in my closet yesterday.

PFW | Thom Browne Fall/Winter 2013 Collection

PFW | Thom Browne Fall/Winter 2013 Collection

Once again, Thom Browne blessed the stage of Paris Fashion Week with a phenomenal collection. The heavy wools and tweeds are delivered in a range of patterns while the models wore the pieces in boxy cuts. The New York-based designer brought out stars, squares, and stripes to really make the offerings standout from seasons past. All-in-all, the suiting, as quirky as the presentation was, stood out the most as we expect the gray and midnight blue color palette to really be a push for Fall 2013.

PFW | Ami by Alexandre Mattiussi Fall/Winter 2013 Collection

Here’s a look at Ami by Alexandre Mattiussi‘s F/W 2013 collection, one of our favorites to be presented at this week’s Paris Fashion Week. The highlight of Ami’s offerings is the designer’s infusion of some color for a season that’s normally pretty mute. Standout pieces include outerwear in red and beige, while strong patterns and some well-designed suiting take Mattiussi’s work to new heights.
