Tommy Hilfiger has announced the launch of Prep World, a Spring/Summer 2011 limited edition capsule collection for men and women. A Pop-Up House landed in the middle of New York City’s Meatpacking District a few days back and will be open to the public through the weekend before traveling to Paris, London, Stockholm, Los Angeles, Madrid, Milan, Sylt, Germany and Knokke, Belgium over the next few months.
The Prep World Pop-Up house is designed to resemble an authentic beach house found on the East Coast, with aged shingles, copper gutters and navy window shutters. This all looks normal but Tommy throws in a twist with a pink front door. The interior’s has a modern appeal with vintage accents and is really inviting with its pure white finishing.
The Prep World collection itself celebrates Tommy Hilfiger’s heritage of preppy classics with a twist and from what we’ve seen thus far, is extremely wearable as well. The pieces are offered at some great price points with tanks starting at $40 and a tailored men’s blazer capping off at $298.
The Prep World Pop-Up House is located in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District in Gansevoort Plaza (One Little West Twelfth Street) and will be open from 10am to 9pm through Saturday and 11am to 6pm on Sunday.
