The A.Sauvage Spring/Summer 2014 collection pulls inspiration from the designer’s own family history. His great-grandfather traveled from western Nigeria to the British isles in 1851, so Sauvage looked to the duality of cultures. There’s a blending of British sensibility with images of Africa inspired by the work of German artist Nelson Crespo. There’s a balanced attack of eveningwear and daywear, both fitting for respective occasions. The collection also introduces the label’s first in-house tartan joined by a great basket-weave cotton and a micro-pin cord.
