Bremont Supermarine Waterman Apex is a Surfer’s Dream Watch

Bremont releases a new limited edition model in collaboration with the non-profit organization Bimini Shark Lab. Officially called the Bremont Supermarine Waterman Apex, a percentage of its earnings will be donated to help support the foundation’s marine conservation efforts.

The timepiece is based off of the Supermarine S500 dive watch, upgraded with a 43mm stainless steel case with a lug width of 22mm. The case has Bremont’s signature Trip-Tick structure paired with a screw-down crown and a helium escape valve. We can also see a domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal and a unidirectional bezel with a sapphire insert. The luminous 24-hour markings cover the bezel.

Let’s talk about the dial. It is matte black and sports the “Waterman” name in blue. A subtle ode to the Bimini Shark Lab is the embossed logo that depicts shark fins along waves. There is still a date window at 3 o’clock. However, large Super-LumiNova-filled indices display time.

Supermarine Waterman Apex is powered by chronometer-certified Caliber 11 1/2’’’ BE-93-2AV, running at a 28,800vph with the standard 42-hour power reserve. It’s fitted with a custom-decorated rotor engraved with a similar shark fin and blue wave pattern.

Customers have a choice of a “harbor” blue rubber strap or a stainless steel bracelet.

Legendary big wave surfer and Bremont brand ambassador Laird Hamilton tested the new Bremont Supermarine Waterman Apex with the waves.

Only 250 pieces of the new Bremont Supermarine Waterman Apex will be produced worldwide, priced at $5,095 with a rubber strap and $5,595 with the metal bracelet.
