Istanbul-based lifestyle brand Les Benjamins reveals its Spring/Summer 2024 offering for Paris Fashion Week. Created as a tribute to writer and amateur sailor Sadun Boro, the first Turkish to circumnavigate the globe by sea, the collection takes its name from Kismet-Fortune, his sailing boat.
The SS24 ‘Kismet Voyage East to West’ collection features unconventional constructions, nautical-themed details and tailoring, and a contemporary futurist-nostalgia look through the brand’s Turkish roots. The collection’s color palette features whites, blues, and greens, with a sprinkling of sand and earth tones.
Unique to the collection are shirts, pants, tops, blazers, and dresses constructed with ropes or hand-made macrame detailing, marine life embroidery, sailing-inspired nylon fabric, degraded leathers, recycled materials, and denim. Also in the collection are silk fabrications, structured shapes, crisp tailoring, woven labels, and metal branding.
Highlight pieces include a patchwork denim button-up and pant pair with asymmetric rope detailing, a white macrame sleeved shirt with morse code patterning, a nautical blue and white top and pants ensemble with crisp wave-like shapes and rope detailing, and a lime green and tan puffer sleeveless top and wide pant ensemble with rope and zip detailing.
