Frederique Constant x seconde/seconde/ Slimline Moonphase Date | A Playful Twist on Swiss Craftsmanship

In haute horlogerie, where precision and perfection often reign supreme, a touch of whimsy and irreverence can be a breath of fresh air. Frederique Constant, the esteemed Swiss watchmaker, has never been one to shy away from innovation, and their latest collaboration with French artist Romaric André, better known as seconde/seconde/, is a testament to that ethos. Together, they’ve unveiled two limited editions of the Slimline Moonphase Date Manufacture, infused with humor and folly that challenge the traditional notions of luxury watchmaking.

At the heart of this collaboration are two distinct models of the Slimline Moonphase Date Manufacture. The first model was crafted from stainless steel. Even more exclusive, the second model boasts a rose gold-tone crown and dial elements only available online, making it a coveted collector’s item.

Both models retain the classic elegance of the Slimline Moonphase Date Manufacture, with a polished 42mm stainless steel case and a matte silver dial. However, upon closer inspection, it’s clear that these timepieces are anything but ordinary. The applied hour markers appear whimsically scattered, the logo and date indication seem hand-written, and even the moonphase disk bears the charming imperfections of hand-drawn artistry. The timepieces possess water resistance capabilities of up to 30 meters and are accompanied by a black alligator leather strap in the case of the stainless steel model. At the same time, the rose gold variant features a brown alligator leather strap.

Powering the Frederique Constant x seconde/seconde/ Slimline Moonphase Date Manufacture is the FC-705 in-house automatic caliber. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, showcasing a power reserve lasting 38 hours and incorporating 26 jewels.

The exclusive timepieces are priced at around $3,568, reflecting the quality and craftsmanship synonymous with the Frederique Constant name. With only a limited number of pieces produced, 100 for the stainless steel model, reference FC-705SOC4S6, and only 10 for the online-exclusive rose gold edition, reference FC-705SOC4S2, prospective buyers are encouraged to act swiftly to secure their own piece of horological artistry.

For those intrigued by this whimsical collaboration, the Frederique Constant x seconde/seconde/ Slimline Moonphase Date Manufacture is set to be available for delivery at the end of March. For more information, please visit the official Frederique Constant website.
