Lamborghini Unveils Hybrid Urus SE In A Step Towards An Electric Future

In a bold move towards the future of luxury SUVs, Lamborghini has unveiled the Urus SE, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of the iconic Super SUV. The Urus SE was showcased at the Volkswagen Group Media Night and is set for its public debut at Auto China Beijing 2024.

Since its inception, the Lamborghini Urus has redefined the SUV landscape, captivating enthusiasts worldwide with its blend of performance and luxury. Now, with the introduction of the Urus SE, Lamborghini continues to push boundaries, setting new standards for power, efficiency, and driving dynamics. Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini Chairman & CEO, emphasized the brand’s commitment to innovation, stating, ‘With the Urus SE, we’ve taken another step towards the future in line with our Direzione Cor Tauri strategy, moving ahead with the electrification of the range and the path toward decarbonization.’

The Lamborghini Urus SE boasts a robust and aggressive exterior design. The SUV features optimized aerodynamics with carefully crafted surfaces to minimize drag and maximize downforce. The redesigned hood creates a seamless flow from the grille to the windshield, while the matrix LED headlights provide superior illumination. The front bumper and grille have been redesigned for a more aggressive look and improved airflow. At the rear, the Urus SE sports a Gallardo-inspired design with a redesigned cargo hatch and rear diffuser, increasing downforce by 35%.

Inside the cabin, the Urus SE is inspired by Lamborghini’s ‘feel like a pilot’ philosophy and features premium materials and intuitive controls. A larger 12.3-inch touchscreen display serves as the centerpiece of the Lamborghini Infotainment System, providing access to a range of features and driving modes.

It features premium materials such as leather, carbon fiber, and Alcantara throughout the cabin. The cockpit is driver-centric, with controls positioned for easy access and a digital instrument cluster providing essential information. The Urus SE is equipped with advanced technology, including a large touchscreen display for infotainment and a suite of driver assistance features. Customization options allow owners to personalize the interior to their preferences, while comfort features such as heated and ventilated seats enhance the overall driving experience.

The Urus SE comes with a potent hybrid powertrain, combining a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine with a transmission-mounted electric motor. This combination delivers a total output of 789 horsepower, making the Urus SE the most powerful SUV in its class. The hybrid system not only enhances performance but also improves efficiency, with the SUV capable of traveling over 60 km in electric-only mode. This formidable powerplant propels the Urus SE from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds, with a top speed of 312 km/h.

The powertrain is complemented by a range of driving modes, allowing drivers to tailor the SUV’s performance to their preferences. From EV Drive mode for electric-only driving to Performance mode for maximum exhilaration, the Urus SE offers versatility and adaptability for every situation.

The Urus SE’s release and pricing have yet to be revealed, but we expect the SE to be similar to the Performante when it launches, likely starting around $275,000. For more information, please visit the official Lamborghini website.
