Cadillac Sollei | An Electric Convertible Concept Blending Brand’s Past And Future

Cadillac unveils the Sollei, a new electric convertible concept vehicle that combines innovative technology and sustainable materials. It is a sleek open-air vehicle with a prominent grille, wide stance, large wheels, and distinctive Cadillac lighting. The car revives the Manila cream color from the late 1950s.

The Sollei is essentially a convertible version of the Celestiq, having the same wheelbase, length, and electric propulsion system. Like all Cadillacs, its back is rounded off in boattail style. The interior features wood veneer, customizable ambient lighting, and Nappa leather. The cabin has a 55-inch touchscreen, and a smaller screen is between the driver and passenger seats.

The Caddic Sollei gets its name from the Latin words sol for sun and lei for leisure, reflecting the vehicle’s inspiration drawn from sun, leisure, and travel. This can be seen in its interior details, such as the case with a list of 3D-printed bird calls, the door map pockets and charging pad made from Fine Mycelium, and floor mats made from Bask fabric.

Cadillac has a history of concept cars influencing future designs, and the Sollei follows other notable concepts like the Ciel convertible and the Elmiraj coupe. Although the Sollei remains a concept, it may be built since its design closely resembles the Celestiq. The unveiling of the Sollei not only signifies the brand’s vision for innovation but also highlights its client experience center for Celestiq buyers called the Cadillac House at Vanderbilt.
