When the 488 Pista ‘Piloti Ferrari’ was released in 2018, it was exclusively available to select client racing drivers. These custom-tailored, limited edition Feraris were offered in four race-inspired colors: Rosso Corsa, Blu Tour De France, Nero Daytona, and Argento Nürburgring. The exclusivity of these cars was further enhanced by the unique racing numbers assigned to each.
Now, one of these exclusive cars is available for public auction, offering a rare opportunity for car collectors or enthusiasts to own this exceptional limited-edition sportscar. The car up for auction is a 488 Pista Piloti Ferrari in Blu Tour de France, and it is wearing the number 69. Although it was sold in 2019, it has remarkably low mileage at just 195 miles, highlighting its almost new condition.
The car features carbon fiber wheels and racing seats; carbon fiber front flaps, titanium exhaust pipes; rear diffuser and rear molding, side air splitters, and engine cover; an audio system, and radio/navigation with Bluetooth. The interior also features carbon fiber on its trim, a white rev counter, and stitched Cavallino emblems on the headrests. The Blu Tour de France exterior, like the other 488 Pista Piloti Ferrari’s, has Italian Tricolore graphics flowing rearward from the hood and embellishing the rocker panels.
The mechanical specifications of the car are similar to the standard series-production 488 Pista. It boasts a twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V-8 engine that produces 710 horsepower at 8,000 rpm. This powerhouse of an engine is paired with a seven-speed F1 dual-clutch transmission for lightning-fast shifts and a 2.8-second 0-60 mph sprint. It also includes a ‘Manettino’ steering wheel and carbon ceramic disc brakes.
Delivery accessories included with the car are its owner’s manual, car cover, tailor-made book, and battery charger. The car also has a full-body clear wrap, which protects its paintwork.
Its first and sole owner purchased this 488 Pista Piloti Ferrari in Blu Tour de France for $555,471. However, it could fetch $1 Million at the RM Sotheby’s Monterey 2024 auction.
