Audi is marking a milestone by releasing the limited-edition RS4 Avant for 25 years. Only 250 of these models will be made, blending high performance with unique design features to honor the original RS4 Sport.
The Audi RS4 Avant has a rich history, dating back to the 1990s when Audi introduced the idea of a sporty wagon with the Avant RS2 and S6 Plus. The first RS4, launched in 1999, set a new standard with its 2.7-liter biturbo engine developed with Cosworth. The new RS4 Avant edition, 25 years old, pays homage to the 2001 RS4 Sport, known for its striking Imola Yellow color and enhanced performance features.
The RS4 Avant edition stands out 25 years later with the same bold Imola Yellow paint reminiscent of the original RS4 Sport. There are Nardo Gray or Mythos Black options for those who aren’t partial to the yellow colorway. Gloss black accents, a black inlay in the rear lights, and darkened Matrix LED headlights give it a distinctive and aggressive look. The car sits on special 20-inch alloy wheels with high-performance Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires for road and track use.
The RS4 Avant edition 25-year interior has the same yellow decorative stitching that echoes the original RS4 Sport design. The RS bucket seats feature honeycomb stitching and carbon backrests. The steering wheel, gear gaiter, and other elements have yellow accents, adding to the car’s unique feel. Each vehicle is individually numbered, and you can opt for a suede steering wheel with yellow stitching to further emphasize its exclusivity.
Under the hood, this special edition packs a 2.9-liter V6 biturbo engine, delivering 470 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque—20 hp more than the standard RS4 Avant. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds and has a top speed of 186 mph. The RS ceramic brakes ensure reliable stopping power, while the RS sport exhaust system provides that familiar sound. The RS Sport Suspension Pro, a manually adjustable coilover suspension, lowers the ride height and improves handling, complemented by the quattro sport differential and an updated transmission for faster shifts.
The Audi RS4 Avant edition 25 years will be available to order in Europe starting June 2024. It costs around $155,400, and only 250 units will be available. Audi hasn’t yet announced if it will be available globally. For more information, please visit the official Audi website.
