Patek Philippe expands its collection of everyday complications with a new Calatrava model. This timepiece features an instantaneous day display, a date display at 6 o’clock, and an eight-day power reserve at 12 o’clock.
At its core is the newly developed manually wound 31-505 8J PS IRM CI J caliber. This movement incorporates the Pulsomax escapement with a Silinvar escape wheel and lever originally developed in the Patek Philippe Advanced Research program.
Two series-coupled barrels ensure precision for eight full days, with a ninth ‘reserve’ day marked red on the arched indicator. The day-date mechanism jumps instantly at midnight.
The timepiece boasts a textured blue dial with a black-gradient rim, accented with white gold applied numerals and luminescent-coated hour and minute hands. A small seconds hand is positioned within the day and date sundial at 6 o’clock, creating a highly legible vertical arrangement of indications.
The white gold caseband is elegantly adorned with Patek Philippe’s emblematic guilloched hobnail pattern. This model has two interchangeable straps: a blue calfskin with a fabric pattern, cream-colored stitching, and a grained taupe calfskin. A patented triple-blade fold-over clasp enhances comfort, security, and tool-free strap swapping.
