Unveiled at Basel World, the Super Trofeo Chronograph is the first timepiece to come from an everlasting relationship between Italy’s Lamborghini and Swiss watchmaker Blancpain. As Hodinkee states, the watch is crafted of DLC coated steel, features Blancpain’s Calibre F185 movement, which to reinforce its dynamic nature, has been coated by NAC – a state-of-the-art electroplating treatment that blackens the movement bridges and main plate. The timepiece is a bit more subtle than we’d expect from the raging bull (speaking of which, there is no sign of it anywhere on the watch), but it is understated and well refined.
The Super Trofeo commemorates a partnership between Lamborghini and Blancpain that will see a whole new series of races takingplace between 30 Lamborghinis on six different tracks this year, including some of the world’s best. Only 300 of these will be made available.
