BMW M4 Convertible ’30 Jahre’ Celebrates 30 Years of M Drop-Tops

Hard to believe that it’s been over three decades since the iconic E30 M3 made its debut. This year marks another milestone as it’s now been 30 years since that same E30’s drop-top variant was unveiled. With that in mind, we get this limited edition BMW M4 Convertible ’30 Jahre’ to celebrate the occasion. It’s got 444 horsepower, is limited to just 300 builds and features a lot of what you might see in the non-cabrio M3 and M4 Competition Pack. The M4 Convertible 30 Jahre features 20 more horsepower than the standard M4 convertible alongside an M Sport exhaust, adaptive M suspension with a SPORT mode, and strong iterations of DSC and M diff. Two limited color options are seen here, one’s a Macao Blue that you might remember from the E30 while the Mandarin II uni option reminds us of the E36 M3 Convertible’s Dakar Yellow finish.

Other enhancements include BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line trims for the BMW kidney grille surround, the M side gills, the model lettering and the forged M light alloys boasting a star-spoke design. The 20-inch wheels come in the color Orbit Grey matte offered exclusively for the edition model as well. Lettering “30 Jahre Edition” is imprinted both on the doorsills and the headrests. A signet on the interior trim strip on the passenger side dashboard area boasts, in addition to the lettering “30 Jahre Edition”, the number “1/300”, giving reference to the limited series.

Release and pricing info isn’t available but expect a premium over the standard M4 Convertible. Check out more visuals in gallery up top for now.
