With the Frankfurt Motor Show already underway, there’s a heck of a lot going on in the auto industry but we think Audi‘s had one of the best showings of the year with an unveiling of their entire S-line vehicles. Beyond that, we even got a chance to look at the 2012 Audi RS5 that got the same facelift as the rest of the lineup which focuses primarily on redesigned headlamps and tail lamps.
A 4.2 liter V8 is still under the hood and churns out 450 horses at 8,250 rpm with a max torque of 317 lb-ft between 4,000 and 6,000 rpm. All of this is mated with a dual-clutch transmission and quattro all-wheel-drive, giving the 2012 Audi RS5 a 0 to 62 mph time of 4.6 and top speed of 174 mph.
On a racetrack, the RS5 has a serious deficiency of pace compared to an M3. Everywhere else, the M3 is an ugly, tacky, deeply unfortunate vehicle.
