The folks at Acquire just turned us to the release of Canon’s S100, a follow-up to their highly successful manual-friendly S90 and S95 point-and-shoot cameras. The camera will feature a 12.1 Megapixel sensor that’s mated with a slightly wider and longer 24-120mm F2.0 lens. Other upgrades include a new Digic V image processor, ISO sensitivity beefed up to 6400, Full HD recording at 24 frames/sec and built-in GPS.
The S100 will drop in November and will be a great companion. It’s compact and I personally known a few photographers that opt for the S100 when they don’t feel like carrying their SLR around. Price is positioned at $430.
