Thom Browne’s Spring/Summer 2017 Inspired by the Tropics

Thom Browne transported viewers to a strange world during his Spring/Summer 2017 show through an eclectic display of unconventional, tropical fashion. The dark grayscale setting complemented the theme song of Jaws playing in the background to create a contrastingly dim atmosphere. Models leaned more towards the weird and wonderful, sporting animal heads, heavy feathers and swim caps atop painted faces, reminiscent of slathered sunscreen. Entering the runway in onesies, the men unzipped the outfits to unveil short suits, floral jackets and articulately embroidered ensembles, all following the pool and cocktail color scheme (think light blue water and piña coladas). The spectacle concluded with models in tinted sunglasses and retro bathing suits grabbing surfboards and planting them into the gray sand. Check out Browne’s Spring/Summer 2017 artistry above.
