Daniel Arsham collaborated with the luxury German luggage manufacturer, RIMOWA, to debut his version of the iconic 2019 model suitcase called the RIMOWA X Daniel Arsham Eroded Turntable in Pilot Case.
First released in 1994, the RIMOWA Pilot Case gets vintage style logos in a unique Arsham Green Pantone shade, integrated with regular cutting-edge RIMOWA functionalities like the pioneering Multi-wheel System and telescopic handle.
Tags with the artist’s surname and the RIMOWA logos are also present, but what makes the luggage unique is what’s found inside. Inside every Daniel Arsham RIMOWA Pilot Case is a hand-cast turntable made from white plaster and crushed glass, as well as Arsham Studio Standard Art handling gloves. An archival piece, this collector’s item is similar to Arsham’s Future Relic series.
The Rimowa X Daniel Arsham Eroded Turntable in Pilot Case will be available on October 7th. It comes in Black or Silver, with only 500 pieces per color offered in selected regions with individually numbered certificate of authenticity cards. The silver RIMOWA x Daniel Arsham Eroded Turntable in Pilot Case will go for $3,600 and will be available in RIMOWA stores in Europe, North America, and South America and online at RIMOWA.com and the Arsham website. The black version, which costs about $4,114 will only be available in RIMOWA stores in Asia and on RIMOWA.com, as well as on the Archive Editions WeChat MiniProgram (ID: Archive Editions).
