Jacob & Co. Casino Tourbillon Redesigns the Casino Experience with Fully-Functional Roulette

Jacob & Co.’s first foray into the casino design space was with the Astronomia Casino. It featured a fully functional roulette, complete with 37 pockets in an Astronomia 47-mm timepiece. This year, the watchmaker’s design takes the design into a new easier-to-wear 18k rose gold model called the Casino Tourbillon.

The new Casino Tourbillon features a working miniature Roulette game. The pusher at 8 O’clock propels the wheel head, complete with 37 lacquered pockets, one green, 18 red, and 18 black, and a white ceramic ball. It uses a ball-bearing-based mechanical construction, and the watch needs to be laid flat to get the most out of the roulette.

The Casino Tourbillon’s other features include a 44mm case body made of polished 18K rose gold with a domed sapphire crystal. It features Super-LumiNova hour and minute hands, kite-shaped gold indices, Caseback Flying Tourbillon at 6 O’clock, rotating at one rotation/min, an 18k rose gold pusher at 8 O’clock for the on-demand Roulette Animation, black wheel track PVD flange with eight diamond-shaped deflectors, black mirror-polished onyx hours and minutes dial, as well as winding and time-setting case back functions.

The watch is powered by the new manual winding Caliber JCAM51 complication with the roulette module. The Roulette module sits on a last-generation base caliber, a 72-hour power reserve and a caseback located tourbillon featuring the same visual design as the roulette front. The Casino Tourbillon comes with a black alligator strap with an 18k rose gold deployment buckle.

The Jacob & Co. Casino Tourbillon will be limited to only 101 examples and will retail for $280,000. For more information, visit the brand’s website.
