eBay has just expanded its luxury resale Authenticity Guarantee service to streetwear. It has been authenticating luxury handbags since 2021, and with the expansion, the service now includes sneakers, watches, jewelry, handbags, and trading cards.
Authentication is done at eBay’s dedicated and new state-of-the-art New Jersey facility and involves multipoint inspections by in-house experts, proof of authentication, and verified returns for items selling for more than $200.
Projections estimate that other eligible brands like adidas, Balenciaga, Burberry, Cactus Plant Flea Market, Chrome Hearts, Comme des Garçons, Dior, Fendi, Givenchy, Gucci, Jordan Brand, Louis Vuitton, Nike, OVO, Palm Angels, Prada, and Rhude will get included in eBay’s Authenticity Guarantee service by the end of September.
