Swedish clothing retailer GANT opens its flagship store in Stockholm, Sweden. Created in partnership with Snarkitecture, the New York-based design practice, the new store was designed with memorable spaces and as a conduit for immersive experiences.
GANT’s newest concept store sits in a 580 sqm space in the heart of the city’s Östermalm shopping district. It covers three floors with distinct zones that include open plan living room and lounge spaces, as well as collegiate-inspired locker room and library settings.
The new flagship also has one of two new GANT Studios, with the other located at the brand’s New York location at 240 Mulberry Street. The GANT Studio Stockholm serves as a multifunctional creative space for curated exhibitions, panel discussions, and brand activities.
The space features historic details and warm tones, with Snarkitecture’s Scandinavian design elements and shapes. The use of brass, dark wood, and traditional herringbone is juxtaposed with modern terrazzo stone tiles and plaster. To maximize natural lighting, the historical arched windows have been preserved, while a double-height mezzanine was added.
