Levi’s FW23 Made in Japan Collection Brings Selvedge Denim to Iconic Pieces

The Levi’s FW23 Made in Japan collection features the use of selvedge denim, in washes ranging from light to dark indigo, sourced from the Hiroshima-based Kaihara Denim Mill. Manufactured using rare, vintage shuttle looms, the textiles reveal unique textures, technical precision, and individual character on Levi’s 501, 505, and 511 silhouettes.

The collection features a selection of jean styles that includes women’s medium and worn-in MIJ Column, the MIJ HR Boyfriend, and the MIJ Barrel, as well as men’s MIJ 1980s 501 jeans and medium, worn-in MIJ 511 jeans. Denim tops in the collection come in the form of the MIJ Classic Type II jacket for women and the MIJ Classic Type III jacket, all available in a range of sizes. The MIJ Barrel jeans for women, the MIJ 1980s 501 jeans for men, and the MIJ Classic Type III jacket for men come in a unique arrow patchwork textile in various denim shades. All the pieces in the collection include Made in Japan back patches, Hinomaru-inspired inner labels, and a hidden surprise on the indigo tab.

The Levi’s Fall/Winter 2023 Made in Japan collection has launched globally and is available now through the Levi’s webstore, Levi’s App, physical boutiques, and select retailers. In the meantime, check out the entire collection in the lookbook.
