MANHART ALPINA 2002 TII | Iconic BMW Gets A New Restomod Lease On Life

MANHART just revealed its latest restomod project, the MANHART ALPINA 2002 TII. Built on a BMW 3-series predecessor 02, the Classic Cars department gave the iconic automobile several exterior, interior, and powertrain updates.

The MANHART ALPINA 2002 TII boasts an Agave Green body paint scheme, distinctive ALPINA touch with ‘pig cheeks’ wheel arch extensions, ALPINA’s signature light green and silver decal set, and 215/40R16 and 225/40R16 tires. The original ALPINA  8×16-inch multi-spoke rims are available in custom finishes and are aligned under the flared wings with the use of 25-mm spacers.

Inside, the 2002 TII exudes vintage charm with restored Scheel sports seats in a combination of green and blue stripes. The MANHART Classic Cars team added a Clubsport roll bar in the rear, providing additional structural rigidity and an ALPINA steering wheel and gear shift knob.

Under the hood, the 2002 TII runs on an ALPINA-tuned two-liter M10 in-line four-cylinder engine. Enhanced with a single throttle system, an ALPINA manifold, and a K&N airbox delivers 200 hp and 158 ft-lb of torque. This is significantly more than the 130 lb-ft/ 130 HP BMW 2002 tii stock. A newly installed MANHART exhaust system augments this. The team integrated the brake system from a 323i E21 model to handle this increased power and added a Raab coilover suspension by KW and a Wiechers strut brace. Updates that ensure modern, sporty handling and increased body stiffness, respectively.

The MANHART ALPINA 2002 TII pricing hasn’t been released, but interested parties can fill out an inquiry form directly from the MANHART website.
