Zenith first debuted the hard-wearing Defy Extreme timepiece in 2021. For the latest model in the line, Zenith has teamed up with British DJ and music producer Carl Cox to create a limited-edition version of the brand’s Defy Extreme chronograph. The Zenith Defy Extreme Carl Cox Limited Edition celebrates the famous DJ’s favorite set of turntables.
The 45mm Zenith Defy Extreme Carl Cox Limited Edition features a matte micro-blasted stainless steel and yellow gold case construction, 12-sided yellow gold insert under the bezel and crown guards, tinted sapphire crystal, openworked design, unique black vinyl record-shaped 30-min chronograph counter at 3 o’clock, 60-min chronograph counter at 6 o’clock, and running seconds at 9 o’clock, a linear power reserve indicator at noon, gold-plated and Super-LumiNova treated hour, minute, and indices, central seconds chronograph hand, chronograph counter hands, power reserve hand with red tips, sapphire caseback, and water resistance up to 200 meters. It comes with a microblasted stainless steel bracelet and a complimentary rubber and Velcro strap.
Running the Zenith Defy Extreme Carl Cox Limited Edition is the El Primero 9004 in-house caliber movement. It comes certified by Time Lab and features automatic winding, 53 jewels, a dual regulating organ, a power reserve indicator, and a 50-hour power reserve.
The Zenith Defy Extreme Carl Cox Limited Edition, reference 06.9100.9004/21.I001, will have a limited production run of only 100 examples. Retailing for $30,100, it will be available to order starting September 25th.
