It also commemorates historic moments like Abebe Bikila’s triumph at the 1960 Olympics in Rome, seamlessly blending Savile Row tailoring with raw silk and woven gold buttons. Wales Bonner’s SS24 Marathon Collection is a celebration of long journeys and life missions encapsulated in every meticulously crafted apparel, footwear, and accessories. The Marathon campaign unfolds with striking images of top-tier athletes donning bespoke menswear that seamlessly merges elegance and athleticism. The cheetah-printed cowhide and horsehair canvas tailoring evoke the wonders of the natural world, and the exquisite details of this collection are apparent with the use of hand-making techniques passed down through generations.
The Tibeb fabric, woven by artisans in Addis Ababa, takes center stage, making its way to skirts and vests with disrupted animal print motifs.
