Merci Instruments Beaumarchais H02 For Hodinkee

Hodinkee teamed up again with Parisian retailer Merci Instruments to bring us the Merci Instruments Beaumarchais H02 Limited Edition For Hodinkee. The partnership between Hodinkee and Merci Instruments is not new; it builds on the success of their initial collaboration in 2020, the LMM-H01 Limited Edition.

Where that watch was inspired by the utilitarian look of 20th-century field watches, the Beaumarchais H02 is inspired by 1940s dress watches with their distinct decagon or octagon-shaped cases. This watch reimagines those classic designs, adding a modern twist and intricate details.

The Merci Instruments Beaumarchais H02 Limited Edition For Hodinkee features a 36mm stainless steel case with a unique octagonal shape. It also features a dial layered with a brushed steel rehaut, an anthracite gray hour track, a vertically brushed center, blue-painted seconds hand, subtle ‘NYC’ and ‘Paris’ markings at 6 o’clock that honors the brands’ home cities, sapphire crystal over the dial, a solid caseback, and water resistance up to 10 meters. The watch comes with an 18mm honey-brown leather strap.

The Beaumarchais H02 is powered by the ultra-thin Miyota 9039 automatic movement. This Japanese movement has a 42-hour power reserve and a hacking seconds function. Its slim profile keeps the watch’s thickness at just 9.8mm, making it an ideal dress watch that easily fits under a shirt cuff.

The Merci Instruments Beaumarchais H02 Limited Edition For Hodinkee has a manufacturing run of only 500 examples. Priced at $675, the collaborative project is available only from the Hodinkee Online Shop.
