Introducing the Porsche Design Chronograph 1—Hodinkee 2024 Edition, an instant classic that marks the first official collaboration between two iconic brands. There’s quite a bit to appreciate, including its titanium case finished with a black titanium carbide coating and a glass-bead-blasted finish.
This limited edition timepiece features delicate detailing while retaining most of the original version’s specifications. The dial has the original Porsche Design logo and font including the legacy-spec ‘1 Mile’ graphic rehaut. It also retains its 6-9-12 subdial layout, with a 30-minute counter at the top, a 12-hour counter at the bottom, and running seconds at 9 o’clock.
The timepiece includes an ‘H’ in Porsche Design Red from 1972 at 6 o’clock, referencing Hodinkee. A day display is present at 3 o’clock, which can be interchanged between English and Japanese with a click and a few crown rotations, a feature that pays tribute to Porsche and Hodinkee enthusiasts in Japan.
The 40.8mm wide and 14.15mm thick titanium case is covered in matte-black titanium carbide coating, making the watch super-durable and ultra-light while giving it an aesthetic appeal. The Super-LumiNova® on the watch has received a vintage yet contemporary update, featuring a subtle contrast between the dial indices and hands. The watch’s bracelet is also made of titanium with a folding clasp and black titanium carbide coating.
Under the hood, the ultra-accurate Porsche Design Calibre WERK 01.140. is securely protected by a titanium case back. Engraved on the back are the Porsche Design and Hodinkee name and logos, the limited edition number, the year ‘2024’, and ‘TRILOGY – CHAPTER 1.’ This edition is dynamically water-resistant to 10 bar and has a power reserve of 48 hours.
The Porsche Design Chronograph 1 – Hodinkee 2024 Edition will have a limited global production of 350 pieces for $9,650 each. The first 100 pieces are sold at Hodinkee Shop while the rest will be available at Porsche Design.
