Morgan Motors, the England-based manufacturer, infused its Super 3 range with a vibrant splash of color. Drawing inspiration from the mood board that spawned the funky three-wheeler in 2022, the company has created nine limited-edition models under the Origins label.
Morgan’s designers drew inspiration from a wide array of sources for this collection, including the jet age, science fiction, the pop-art movement, American boulevard cruisers, 1980s technology, and the speed record-setting belly-tank racers. Consequently, each limited-edition Super 3 is named after each topic, with names including Bluebird, Boulevard Cruiser, Pickersleigh Speedshop, Space Race, Warp Speed, Scramble the Jets, Charlie Mike, Fast Forward, and Whoosh Bang Pop.
Bluebird pays homage to Donald Campbell’s 1964 land speed recording-breaking Bluebird-Proteus CN7, with a matching blue hue as the CN7 and a machine-tuned aluminum dashboard in the cabin. Boulevard Cruiser captures the essence of 1950s American cars with Frozen Berry paint, Ivory Typhoon leather upholstery, and bright exterior trim. Pickersleigh Speedshop embodies Morgan’s take on belly-tank racers with a hand-painted bright red and metallic silver livery.
Space Race, Warp Speed, and Scramble the Jets variants explore the skies, reimagining the futuristic jets and rockets of the 1950s. Charlie Mike adopts a military-inspired design, while Fast Forward and Whoosh Bang Pop draw inspiration from non-transportation-related sources. Fast Forward pays tribute to ‘the Japanese-led tech and gaming revolution of the 1980s,’ finished in white with orange and red graphics. Whoosh Bang Pop honors the pop art movement that began in the 1950s with comic strip-like graphics.
The Morgan Super 3 Origins is now available. Its base price is $59,494, excluding sales tax and destination. However, pricing can vary depending on the model. Customization is also offered at an extra cost.
